Sage EMS supports provision of billing read data to one or more billing systems.  A key feature for markets facing IMRO is virtual basic metering – where Sage EMS maintains a virtual basic meter – based on the customer’s tariff, and uses interval meter data to provide basic style readings to the billing system.  This allows for both quarantining the billing system from the volume of interval data, yet supports complex products if desired, by mapping them to sophisticated virtual basic meters.

 

Sage EMS supports pull and push (or request/response and publish subscribe) style interfaces.

 

Core billing support includes tracking of billing related exceptions (e.g. data requested but not available or complete), tracking of billing status to support detection of unbilled consumption, tracking of meter data changes vs. billing cycle to detect updated reads that may require look-back or cancel-re-bill billing.

 

Aggregation of interval data for virtual basic billing, or simply into consumption tariff components performs at rates greater than 20,000 customers per hour.
